Repeat customer

Yesterday JHF Catering hosted a delightful luncheon for G.R.I.T.S.   You can always depend on Joyce Green and her staff to go over the top in hospitality!  All we had to do was show up!  JHF provided beautiful table settings and centerpieces for the event and the chicken salad and fruit dessert were over the top. Yum!  Couldn’t have asked for anything more.  As a hostess, this was the easiest event I have ever done.  Joyce took care of everything.  No worries here.  No set -up or clean –up on our part.  It was great!  Joyce is very easy to work with and you won’t be disappointed.  Her staff delivered first class service and made the day a special one for all who attended.

I also used Jordan Hill Farm a couple of years ago for a surprise birthday party for my husband.  Joyce pulled it all together for an event that no one will ever forget!!! We rented the whole house for the family and had a great time! A beautiful location for wonderful memories to be made.  You won’t be disappointed!!!

Thanks again, JHF!!

Perfect 5/5

Perfect stay. Joyce is the perfect host. The house and property is beautiful

Jordan Hill Farm was hands down the most beautiful, serene and enjoyable property we have stayed at!

Joyce and Joe were so hospitable and lovely!! We felt right at home before we even got there! Everything we needed was there on the farm. From the scenery, to the hot tub, to the fire pit, to Cory and Elmer (their beautiful horses), to the time-kept nature of the gorgeous decor… It truly was our home away from home and we cannot wait to return every year!

A little piece of Heaven at Jordan Hill Farm

My husband and I, along with our daughter and her family stayed at Jordan Hill for a week. There were 6 of us and we were able to spread out and really enjoy our time in this beautiful, relaxing home. The minute we arrived, my granddaughter and grandson (11 year old twins) made their way to the horses. The horses are very sweet and the kids loved spending so much time with them and feeding them apples and carrots. Also, being able to watch the horses from inside the house was a real treat. Upon arrival, Joe was very welcoming, showing us around and giving us a tour of the kitchen. He was wonderful. We requested Chef Tim’s services (Jordan Hill Catering) to cater a birthday dinner for my daughter and her husband who were both having birthdays. The dinner he provided for us was absolutely delicious and he set it up in high style in the dining room, very professionally done. Wow — I sure wish he lived closer to us; we would be using his services all the time. What a treat! Some of the things that we loved:

–The front porch swings — we spent hours out there just enjoying the peace and quiet…awesome

–The wonderful kitchen — it is full of everything you could possibly need for cooking. My daughter and I love to cook, so this was a real treat.

–The deck in the back of the home — there are several patio tables and chairs, very comfortable, in a very serene environment

–The fire pit in Jordan Springs — Joyce and Joe even provided chairs and and set the fire logs up for us.

–The abundant first breakfast provided for us — Joyce provided enough food for our first breakfast that we were able to use it for several days.

What a nice gesture and very much appreciated.

–The scenery is awesome..85 acres of rolling hills and trails. Wow, we just soaked it in.

–The hot tub which was well maintained…we enjoyed sitting out there on the deck in the evenings and overlooking the rolling hills.

–Elliott and Rigley, the dogs — the kids loved cuddling Joyce and Joe’s dogs, and our dog fit right in with them.

Thank you, again, Joyce and Joe for a wonderful week at Jordan Hill Farm. We look forward to coming back.

Jordan Hill Farm, Richmond, Kentucky, Vacation Home Rental

The home was one of the most comfortable and relaxing rentals where we have stayed. The home had the ability to house 4 families and allow for cooking and dining of the families while enjoying the beauty of rolling hills and valleys. The walking paths were safe and accessible for the young children in the families. A evening on the porch swing and night in the hot tub facilitated the family connections and communications which we were hoping for when planning. Above all, there were horses in the barn! (I love horses!)

The historic home was transformed to a birthday celebration and dinner. The dinner was catered by JHF Catering LLC and the food was greater than requested and the serving environment was very professional. We had a wonderful evening of eating, laughing and visiting!

The Vacation Home and owners were warm and accommodating. They fulfilled the dream which I have had for years! The vacation and dinner celebration were greater than a dream come true for me! Thank you!

Cozy farmhouse with stunning views

Jordan Hill is an amazing property perfect for a family reunion or girls-weekend. The interior is casual and comforting (and true to the photos), the hot tub overlooks the barn and valley, and the owners are very welcoming. Joe & Joyce provided us with the “fixings” for a hardy breakfast for our first morning there which was really nice. We spent time visiting with her and her husband, they believe in making the Jordan Hill experience as carefree as possible, which is evident in all of the small details they pay attention to: gas grill, charcoal grill, board games, outdoor games, Direct TV available in the bedrooms, etc. We took a hike to the waterfall/creek bed which was quite the workout but well worth it. We took day trips to Richmond, Berea, and Versailles, but if you wanted to stay on the property and just hang out and do outdoor activities you wouldn’t miss out. Joyce knows EVERYONE so if you mentioned Jordan Hill people were even more welcoming than they already are. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!!

Wonderfull!

Joyce & Joe

Thank you for sharing your home with us. Everyone loved the place and we had a memorable 21st Girl’s Weekend. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

Don’t be surprised if we’re back soon!

A Gem hidden among the Horses

Jordan Hill Farm was not as advertised. Joyce was obviously being modest in her description. It exceeded our expectations. We were there for the Breeder’s Cup and we sure wished we would have booked two extra days to experience all of the farm. The country farmhouse is well taken care of. The house is HUGE. Plenty of room for everyone. We had 5 of us in our group and should have brought more.

My favorite part of the farm was the three horses right off the back deck. Being city folk, we felt at home with feeding the horses carrots and apples.

Joyce was superb at giving us all the details and took care of any questions we had. We hardly knew she and her husband were close by.

When the Breeder’s Cup returns to Lexington, or any other excuse we can use to come stay here, we definitely will. A gem hidden among the horses!

A Pleasant Place to Gather

“We live in Madison County, but our home just isn’t big enough for the families of all seven of our kids.  Luckily we found Jordan Hill Farm on the internet and rented it for Columbus Day Weekend in 2014. We have gathered in other facilities at other times, but Jordan Hill Farm is definitely quieter, more private, than anywhere we have been. It is also a more interesting, more fabulous, house – the brochure cannot do justice to all its intricacies and features.

“The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the bedrooms soulful, and the living and dining rooms are spacious. The farm is real nice for walks – around the circle for toddlers and infants in backpacks, and down to the creek for the older kids and adults. Joyce and Joe were inconspicuous except when we needed them, and then they were at our service immediately, graciously, and helpfully. We recommend Jordan Hill Farm for others needing a pleasant place to gather in Northern Madison County, Kentucky.”

Great Rental! Jordan Hill Farm is a great getaway from the city…highly recommend!

Jordan Hill Farm was as advertised…an old country farmhouse (believe some it dates back to the 1800’s) that is well taken care of and well decorated indoors to feel like you’re in a rustic retreat. The location is about 20 minutes off of I-75…only about 9 miles, which tells you that it is pretty remote and is a winding, tight road to get back into the location. It’s about 2 miles into a dead end, so you’re truly by yourself out in the country.

Few of my favorites about the place…the view from the back deck (looks over a huge expanse of rolling KY forest), the horses (3 horses actually on-site that you can feed apples too…our kids absolutely went crazy with this!), the inside (all wood, old den w/ loft for sleeping, plenty of room for 3 couples – although with kids, they’ll be in the same room as you), and the exterior 85 acres with plenty of hiking trails (definitely go down behind the barn to the creek bed…very unique setting of rock cliff faces into the creek bed). About a 30 minute drive to Berea which was a nice excursion.

Joyce also does a great job with providing hospitality throughout, specifically with providing enough food for a full breakfast (to feed 8 people) which was very nice. The one thing to note (just to provide full clarity) is that Joyce lives on-site in a separate garage/apartment. This didn’t impact the weekend at all for us, just a heads up in case that would be weird for anyone to know that the person you’re renting from is still on the property.

I’d definitely recommend the location to friends/family and hope to make another trip back in the future to Jordan Hill Farm!

Home base for any occasion

Our Son got married in Lexington over Memorial Day weekend. We had family come from all over the country. This was a perfect home for everyone to gather. The kitchen is amazing, large and accommodating. The house has everything you could possibly need, even some groceries! There were long walks by the creek, and hours spent on the porch and deck. After the wedding we hosted a Family Reunion at Jordan Hill Farms. There was volleyball, baseball, and bubbles for the little ones. the owners Joyce and Joe were excellent hosts. We would recommend this gorgeous home to anyone! Thanks for an incredible week!

Golf Weekend

This was our group’s second year at Jordan Hill Farm. We originate in Georgia, Ohio and Indiana so this was an equal drive for everyone. Suffice it to say that we had another outstanding weekend catching up on our lives, golfing, telling tall tales and enjoying food and drink. Owners Joyce and Joe provide fantastic hospitality, wonderful accommodations and a secluded working horse-farm location. You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect Site for Family Reunion

A beautiful, warm, comfortable and spacious home with a fantastic kitchen (a stove made for cooks) – all surrounded by scenic rolling hills – it made the perfect spot for a large family holiday gathering. Joyce decorated the entire home just gorgeously including a unique tree. There were 16 of us including my Dad in a wheelchair who managed just fine. The hot tub was a huge hit and so were the horses. We were able to do a long walk by the creek and take many strolls. Jordan Hill Farm made our Christmas. Highly recommended!

Wow!!!!

What do you say when outstanding, fantastic, amazing and fabulous aren’t enough. Everything and I mean everything was over the top from the time we arrived until the time we sadly departed. Our four night family Thanksgiving gathering for our family of eleven kids (ranging from 3 to 15) and six adults was everything we had hoped for and more. The home, the property and more importantly the owners made our experience a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. All of the kids want to know if we can come back every Thanksgiving.

Thank you Joyce and Joe for everything,

The whole Buckey family

Relaxing family vacation!!!!!!

The pictures of the house and property do not do it justice! What an amazing house and the surrounding landscape are fantastic. Joyce and Joe (and Elliot and Rigley) made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. There are plenty of things to do on the property as well as the surrounding area. Joyce was so helpful to us in providing us with lots of places to visit. We enjoyed our trips to Louisville and Lexington (close enough for an easy day trip). We had a great time with our kids (2 teenagers and a 11 year old) playing badminton, fishing, feeding and brushing the horses, relaxing in the hot tub or just swinging on the porch. What a great way it spend a week with the kids! We will definitely be back again to JHF! Thank you for such a wonderful vacation!

Hatton Family

What a wonderful experience! A lovely setting, lovely hostess, lovely time, what else can we say? EXCEPT, our girls weekend included a variety of spa services and we’re refreshed and beautified by Sonja and Joyce. A totally memorable experience.

A Sliver Of Heaven!

“People come and go throughout our lives. Some make an outstanding imprint. I would like to Commend the owners Joe and Joyce for welcoming complete strangers into there home to enjoy it as much as they do! My mother has been living off and on with Breast Cancer since 2009. As she is nearing the end of her battle, she asked for one last family vacation. The idea of renting the farm house seem to be the best option for our family. I was nervous but Joyce made me feel comfortable and excited. By the time of our arrival, mom was growing weaker. Joyce made sure mom was settled before showing us her home. We were flabbergasted on how much nicer it was in real life. The views were breathtaking.

“For a family that is use to camping, we had so much that we did around the farm and in the mountains that we didn’t need to do anything else offsite. In the pictures of the kitchen it looked small, but in reality we had five people cooking, sometimes two babies and a 100+ lb dog undertow and still had enough room to move around. There were maps, brochures, children books on The Appellation Mountains, art books that would muse the artist and history books that would intrigue the history buff. If I had any questions or what I thought was a problem, Joyce would answer it or take it lightly and tell me to relax and have fun. She even would check in to see how mom was doing.

“Unfortunately we had to get the wheelchair out. For the most part we could move her around at ease. Older homes were built with wider door frames. There was a step to get in the house and in the bedroom on the first floor. The bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible, but we made do. Joyce also introduce us to a photographer friend of her’s. Between mom getting weaker and me wanting a horse in the picture with us, I didn’t think we could get the schedules to fit, but in the end it all worked out.

“Two days before the family portrait, Joyce washed the horses. When I came out of the bathroom (that was located in the first floor bedroom), I was frozen in the beauty of the love Joyce’s has as she washed one of the horses. For me this was a beautiful moment that I will always remember. Oh! Mom sat in her wheelchair outside and watch for about an hour. The whole family had such a wonderful time and will recommend Jordan Hills Farm! Their imprint will be with us for ever. Thank You So Much for Sharing A Sliver Of Heaven!”

Peace and Quiet in Beautiful Surroundings

“We booked Jordan Hill Farm for a weekend golf get-away. This place is awesome! Beautiful accommodations and tranquil surroundings made it a perfect place to catch up with old friends. Easy access to Richmond and Lexington. Equally impressive were the owners, Joe and Joyce, two of the friendliest people you will meet. Truly a great experience.”

– Jack Benson on May 15, 2014

Wonderful getaway with all the comforts of home!

“We stayed at Jordan Hill Farm to attend the Kentucky Derby and enjoy nearby Lexington. The house and grounds were perfect. Even better in person than in the pictures. Loved that we could bring our dogs. Great getaway! Would definitely book again!”

– Katie Ellis on May 11, 2014

Such a relaxing quiet place to visit!!!

“Jordan Hill Farms was the perfect place for our family to meet for Easter weekend!! The home was incredible and had everything we needed! The property was beautiful and made it easy to relax! Joyce went out of her way to dye Easter eggs and fill Easter baskets for our family and hide them around the house in the morning to surprise us!! The home is still a reasonable distance to Lexington also! I would recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway or even reunions or events!”

– Amber Haywood on April 26, 2014

Better than Home Away from Home

“My mom chose Jordan Hill Farm from several contenders as a “central” spot to meet for Thanksgiving weekend. We arrived from Nevada, Ohio, and Tennessee and couldn’t have asked for better accommodations! Joyce was extremely helpful during the planning process and had a farm-fresh turkey and fridge stocked with all the fixings for a delicious country Thanksgiving breakfast waiting for us when we arrived. She made us feel completely at ease in her home and gave us the run of the place. She had everything we needed (and more) in her kitchen to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner. Between Joyce’s hospitality, her beautiful house, the scenery, Elliott (the BIG farm dog in a little body), the horses, and the evenings spent roasting marshmallows in the fireplace, we found a little bit of heaven in Richmond, KY. It’s the perfect gathering place for family reunions, weddings, and girls’ (or guys’) getaways. Just be sure to follow Joyce’s directions to the house, because if you follow your GPS, you WILL get lost (as some members of our party discovered).”

Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving

“We flew from out west to meet our daughters and their families at Jordan Hill farm for Thanksgiving. It was a perfect holiday with lots of room inside and outside. The owner Joyce made everything wonderful by warmly welcoming us, leaving us special treats, showing us around and then leaving us to have a joyous family holiday gathering. The house, the surrounding acreage, animals all couldn’t have been more wonderful. I hope to return. (Recommended for: Age 55+,  Adventure Seekers,  Girls Getaway,  Sightseeing,  Families with Teenagers,  Families with Young Children).”

“Jordan Hills Farm was a perfect location for my Stress Free Food Preparation with Katya workshop. It is a place to relax and enjoy amazing views. I am in love with Jordan Hills Farm and will be coming back again and again!”

– Katya Trent, Wellness with Katya, Richmond, KY

Spending Time with the two of you was a huge bonus!

“I wanted to write and thank you for sharing so much of yourselves with all of us. I’ve always loved Kentucky/Tennessee for the beautiful terrain; and our friend’s referral to meet there was perfect. That we got to meet and spend time with the two of you, which was a huge bonus! Thank you for everything and we’ll tip one to you both when we all get together in July at our cabin!”

– Lois

Refreshing, Relaxing, Private Retreat

“Our family of 8 completely enjoyed this Home on 85 acres. It actually rained the entire stay but that didn’t deter us from the lovely trails – including the bunker wall from the Civil War and the clear rainwater stream/waterfalls! The home was clean, beautiful and felt like home. Joyce is very hospitable and kind. My children loved Elliott as well (the sweet dog!) As far as good food away from home, we enjoyed Gillum’s Sports Lounge! I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone coming through the Lexington, KY area. Thank you, Joyce!  Recommended for: Adventure Seekers,  Sightseeing,  Families with Teenagers,  Families with Young Children,  Romantic Getaway.”
